Gauri Kasarla

My name is Gauri Kasarla and I am an artist. Through every brushstroke, I strive to define who I am by bridging cultures and values. For me, art is more than simply a form of expression. Art is a way for me to be bold: transcend past societal constructs and show what I am passionate about without fearing responses of indignation, outrage, or acceptance. Art provides me with an outlet to decide who I am and who I want to become. Through my art, I try to capture fleeting moments, stylizing and manipulating reality in faces and objects to further illustrate the impact memories and people have had on my life. If I can one day successfully depict the emotions and aura I associate with specific individuals, I'll consider my life complete.
